This year for mothers day I am hoping to get some lovely home made gifts and cards accompanied by a yummy breakfast in bed all made and delivered by my two lovely daughters Frankie and Charli. No doubt Tim (their dad and my sweet husband) will be quality controlling and helping them along the way.... I actually love Mothers day because I get to spend time with my darling family and often we will spend time (maybe lunch if we are lucky) at my mother in laws as well. Sometimes we may even go out for an evening meal too, or at the least Tim will organise dinner for me. Which all adds up to me not having to cook for a whole day!!  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE cooking but an actual day off is awesome.
So, seeing as I love to get home style gifts and even more than that I love to have gifts of food,  I have come up with an idea to make and sell some yummy mothers day gift baskets of home style baking for local Nelson Mums. will post pics as soon as I can.
I cant wait, now I am excited about mothers day! I hope everyone else is too.

So today is the 39th anniversary of the day I was born. It is hard to believe how quickly time has flown buy, especially the last few years since I graduated with my Bachelors Degree (sport and recreation) and began the journey of building this cafe, originally "The House of Brown Sugar" now known as "The Strawberry Bakehouse".
Even in the past year so much has changed for us from the changes in the team who work here through to the changes in the name of the cafe and many others in between.
Much to our customers delight, we are still putting out amazingly yummy original food, smiles with our service and banging great Allpress espresso!
I only hope the next year can be as full of positive changes and growth because I am hoping to spend my 40th birthday on the beach in Bali!

We are all looking forward to having a nice relaxing day off for Anzac Day, I think I will be baking ANZAC biscuits with my daughters (Frankie and Charli) tonight before bed time so that we can eat them with a lovely cuppa tea tomorrow morning.... The catering bookings are flooding in which is great, and the girls at The Strawberry Bakehouse are all smiles and giggles.

looking forward to seeing some new faces in the cafe and catering over the next few weeks. About to change the menu to include Autumnul soups and heart warming stews :-)
